Mark Downing
Managing Director
Mark is responsible for directing Scorpion’s overall strategy towards sustained, profitable growth and ensuring corporate objectives and standards of performance are understood and owned by the senior management team.
Mark also represents the company within a number of professional and industry associations and plays an active role in ensuring industry input and expertise is available to the SMMT Supply Chain Working Group.
Originally trained as an Engineer with BICC in their Connectors division, then educated to degree standard in Business Administration, Mark has over 20 years’ experience as a Managing Director. He believes that the secret of success is attention to detail and excellent customer service.


Gill Downing
Operations Manager
Highly motivated and organised individual, managing a team of production supervisors and operatives in both the electronic and electro mechanical production departments. Gill works closely with Purchasing, and ensures that sales order demand and deadlines are met by coordinating the efforts of production and warehouse.

Mike Nolan
Quality Manager
Mike has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, 10 of which have been with Scorpion Automotive and is responsible for the implementation and on-going integrity of Scorpion’s Quality Management Systems.

Ian Davenport
Head of Research & Development
Heading up the Scorpion’s expanding and multidisciplinary R&D department, Ian’s team is at the forefront of the company’s technological developments for its UK and expanding overseas markets.

Andrew Jeffrey
Chief Technology Officer
Andrew is responsible for all of Scorpion’s web-based architecture and feature development having previously lead teams across Europe for BNP Paribas and Barclays.

Richard holds responsibility for UK Sales and Key Account Management. Richard has an extensive working knowledge of electronic vehicle security and tracking systems having managed his own car security installation business for a number of years.

Regional Sales Manager
Sue is Regional Sales Manager for the South. Sue has over 26 years’ experience within the stolen vehicle tracking industry, having started out at the very beginnings of the technology’s development and has worked for some major tracking companies within the industry and has supported many prestige OE manufactures in launching their own SVR parts programmes.

Dan Balsamini
Sales Operations Manager
Dan is responsible for Sales Operations at Scorpion and Datatool as well as the Regional Sales Manager for the North of the UK. Dan has 12 years of experience working within the automotive industry with brands such as Vauxhall, Mercedes and Skoda. In his spare time he is the Mayor of his home town of Settle, North Yorkshire.

Tony has worked for Scorpion for over 25 years and as Technical Manager, heads up the Customer Technical support department. Tony has responsibility for liaising with external bodies like Thatcham and gathering technical data from the field and working closely with the company’s R&D team regarding product development and continuous improvement.

With over 25 years of experience in the automotive security industry 10 of which with Toad Plc, Aaron now provides technical support for the entire Scorpion range of products.

Karen Hicklin MCIPS
Global Purchasing Manager
Karen is the head of the Scorpion Purchasing Team who are responsible for end to end procurement and ensuring the timely delivery of a multitude of component types each month in line with Scorpion’s manufacturing resource planning process and agreed Client Service Level Agreements.

Darrel Murgatroyd BSc (Hons)
Production Engineering Manager
Darrel directs the development and implementation of Scorpion’s manufacturing processes to ensure optimum production functionality, capacity and cost efficiencies. The role requires working closely with R&D, sales &
marketing and operations to ensure production capability and output stays ahead of customer demand for Scorpion’s growing product portfolio and the increasing volume requirements from its UK and export markets.

Lead Web Developer
James is the lead web developer and has over 7 years experience primarily working with backend code. Mainly focusing on workplace automation and modernising legacy code, as well as teaching apprentices. James also makes IoT systems in his spare time.
