Mark is responsible for directing the Group’s overall strategy towards sustained, profitable growth and ensuring corporate objectives and standards of performance are understood and owned by the senior management team.
Mark also represents the company within a number of professional and industry associations and plays an active role in ensuring industry input and expertise is available to the SMMT Supply Chain Working Group.
Originally trained as an Engineer with BICC in their Connectors division, then educated to degree standard in Business Administration, Mark has over 20 years’ experience as a Managing Director. He believes that the secret of success is attention to detail and excellent customer service.
Highly motivated and organized individual, managing a team of production supervisors and operatives in both the electronic and electro mechanical production departments. Gill works closely with Purchasing, and coordinates the efforts of sales, warehouse and production.
Carl holds responsibility for the group’s strategic sales and marketing function, developing plans and actions in support of Scorpion’s brand and growth targets.
He brings to Scorpion and its customers extensive senior sales and marketing management experience having held director-level tenures and senior consulting roles with global businesses as co-founder/MD of two award winning full service sales and marketing agencies.
Carl has led UK, US and European sales and marketing programmes - working alongside 24 car manufacturers, 6 motorcycle manufacturers, dealers and parts/accessory suppliers. Such works include marketing strategy development, product development, research and implementing a broad scope of website, ecommerce, digital marketing, print media and direct sales activities.
He is passionate about the automotive industry and the diverse and ever-changing nature of his profession. Carl thrives on meeting the variety and complexity of customer needs and positive customer feedback received. He’s a qualified Chartered Marketer and active member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Alongside a CIM Professional Post Graduate Marketing Diploma, Carl holds a BA (Hons) degree in Business Management.
Reporting to Mark Downing, Richard holds responsibility for UK Sales and Key Account Management and is an important member of the company’s senior strategic management team.
Richard joined Scorpion Automotive Ltd in December 2007. He has worked in many sectors of the automotive industry and gained over 26 years experience with electronic vehicle security manufacturers and distributors such as Connaught Electronics Ltd (CEL), Foxguard Electronics Ltd, TG21PLC and Toad Group PLC.
Richard has an extensive working knowledge of electronic vehicle security and tracking systems having managed his own car security installation business for a number of years.
Richard was responsible for managing the sales team at Toad PLC from 2001 until joining Scorpion Automotive Ltd in 2007. He now heads up the external sales team at Scorpion Automotive Ltd as well as working closely on original equipment development projects with Aaron Mitchell, OE Technical Manager.
Richard believes the secret of success is an experienced, professional and friendly approach with first class customer service always in mind.
Reporting to Richard Andrews, Sue is Regional Sales Manager for the South.
Sue has over 20 years’ experience within the stolen vehicle tracking industry, having started out at the very beginnings of the technology’s development at Securicor TrakBak where she joined as a telephonist receptionist and left 9 years later in 2003 as National Account Manager.
From these early days, Sue has held Sales roles with NavTrak and Cobra and has been responsible for OE approved, stolen vehicle tracking sales via franchised dealer sites for many prestige brands including Land Rover, Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati and most recently, Audi following the Launch of the R8 in 2007.
As well as stolen vehicle tracking, Sue has extensive knowledge and experience of working with Aftermarket Resellers who specialise in all forms of automotive safety and security from alarms to parking sensors.
Sue joined Scorpion Automotive in January 2015 and is an enthusiastic and conscientious member of the sales team. With experience within both the direct and indirect sales channels, she has excellent relationship building skills and uses them ably to obtain and maintain business.
Sue also holds a Certificate in Marketing and has a broad knowledge of marketing communications methods.
Reporting to Richard Andrews, Mark is the Regional Sales Manager for the North of England and Scotland.
Mark has over 23 years Business to Business sales experience dealing with large Corporate Clients both in New Business Development and Senior Account Management. A conscientious member of staff, Mark has excellent relationship building skills and always puts the customer requirements first and foremost.
Mark’s experience before Telematics was in the Mobile Phone Market, Working for Vodafone as a Business Account Manager, and Thus Telecom, working as a Business Development Manager.
Mark joined Scorpion in August 2015, bringing with him 6 years of Telematics experience, working with TrafficMaster and AMI Group. Mark understands the whole Telematics Industry, and can identify the customers Telematics requirements through a full consultation, and determining which aspects of the Telematics Solutions will serve the customer in the right way for their business. Mark can also identify bespoke solutions as add-ons to customer requirements.
Mark also manages the Dealer Network in the North of England and Scotland, and supports the growth of Fleet Telematics and Security products with Scorpion Dealers to help drive their sales forward.
Reporting to Sue French, Scott covers the Inner London area for Fleet Sales.
Scott recently joined Scorpion Automotive Ltd in May this year. He has worked in the fleet management industry for the last six years, selling four different manufactures hardware to meet various telematics solutions.
Scott was responsible for managing the team at Vine Telematics as well as developing other vehicle management products, such as vehicle CCTV before joining Scorpion Automotive Ltd. He now concentrates on selling the Scorpion Fleet product.
Scott believes the success in sales is great products that are followed by great customer experiences.
Heading up the Group’s expanding and multidisciplinary R&D department, Ian’s team is at the forefront of Scorpion’s technological developments for its UK and expanding overseas markets.
Scorpion’s relatively unique offering of a bespoke electronic design and manufacturing service all within the confines of its UK HQ facilitates; enables an ultra-efficient product development process from conception to roll-out.
This R&D led service responds to the needs of an increasing portfolio of OE and large volume aftermarket players from around the globe.
Ian holds a Bachelor of Engineering and MSc degree in Electronic Engineering.
Mike is responsible for the implementation and on-going integrity of the Group’s quality management systems. This includes developing and reviewing the effectiveness of our procedures, conducting departmental audits and ensuring the Group’s on-going compliance with ISO9001:2008, TS16949:2009, Thatcham & BSI Quality Standards.
Mike has 15 years of experience in the automotive industry, 8 of which have been with Scorpion.
Mike has Auditor Course training to ISO9001:2008, TS16949:2009 along with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) training which all contribute in helping fulfil specific customer requirements across the group’s large customer base.
Darrel directs the development and implementation of Scorpion’s manufacturing processes to ensure optimum production functionality, capacity and cost efficiencies. The role requires working closely with R&D, sales & marketing and operations to ensure production capability and output stays ahead of customer demand for Scorpion’s growing product portfolio and the increasing volume requirements from its UK and export markets.
He is responsible for leading the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and as a part of the company’s Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process to TS16949 standards. His production engineering expertise is also called upon within the Group’s Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), a standardised practice ensuring accurate and efficient communication with customers in approving production designs and processes before, during, and after manufacture.
In line with Group-wide practice, Darrel works to establish and maintain processes conducive to continuous improvement in manufacturing.
Darrel has a Bsc (Hons) degree in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering and possesses an in-depth knowledge of regulatory standards such as ISO9001, TS16949 and those of the Institute of Printed Circuits (IPC).
Tony has worked for Scorpion for over 25 years and as Technical Manager, heads up the Customer Technical support department. Tony has responsibility for liaising with external bodies like Thatcham and gathering technical data from the field and working closely with the company’s R&D team regarding product development and continuous improvement.
Karen is the head of the Scorpion Purchasing Team who are responsible for end to end procurement and ensuring the timely delivery of a multitude of component types each month in line with Scorpion’s manufacturing resource planning process and agreed Client Service Level Agreements.
The Purchasing Team are the central point of contact for all company purchasing, tasked with ensuring optimal cost efficiencies without compromising Scorpion’s renowned product quality and reliability.
Karen who is MCIPS qualified has over 30 years’ knowledge and experience in electronic component procurement.
