India – the second most populous country in the world; an economic giant with global influence; and a place the UK is keen to build links with.

Insider is pleased to announce its third international trade breakfast of 2013, in association with UK Trade & Investment’s Export Week for High Growth Markets.

This event will bring to life India as a destination for North West businesses and explore the country’s complexities and opportunities as it navigates through the choppy waters of the global economy.

Double-digit growth just a year ago has given way to a slowdown, as a combination of weaker consumer demand and high material prices reduced the country’s economic performance.

But recent changes to legislation have made it easier for international retail businesses to locate in the country and its manufacturing capability is an attractive prospect for a number of North West companies, not to mention a growing army of middle class consumers with money to spend.

Insider’s breakfast debate on India will provide a full and frank account of how to be successful in the country and the pitfalls to be aware of. It will be an opportunity to hear from those who have done it and get their advice for your next move.

Export Week is a week of events across the UK promoting exporting to businesses. A series of seminars will be held to offer advice on doing business almost across the world, especially the fast-growing markets of the Far East, which are at the centre of the 21st Century growth story.

If you wish to attend an Insider event and have any personal requirements in order to fully enjoy your chosen event then please let us know at the earliest date possible.

We have an inclusive approach and wish to ensure that everyone who wants to attend an Insider event is able to do so and to obtain full benefit from being our guest.

Scorpion Automotive in India

January has been a busy start to the year for Scorpion Automotive

Mark Downing the Company’s MD travelled to India for the Auto Expo in New Delhi and then on to Pune for Meetings with some major players in the Indian Automotive industry. Whilst in Delhi Mark met with the British Ambassador to India Mr James Bevan, who made a point of checking out the Scorpion Stand. The picture shows MD and James Bevan talking with Scorpion’s India agent Jacob Thariyan in the background.

During the trip Mark had high level meetings with Tata, Hero Honda, Bajaj, Force Motors Fiat and Jaguar Landrover. There was a lot of interest in the company’s security and tracking products and the market is vast. There are 1.2 billion people in India but the interesting statistic is the growing middle class which is estimated to be in the region of 300 million people who are relatively wealthy and successful and will want to protect their property. This represents a market which is bigger than Europe!!

Further discussions have since taken place on a number of very interesting projects. Watch this space.

Scorpion & Turnbulls Sign Marine Partnership

Turnbulls Scorpion are pleased to announce the launch of the new 'SCORPION TRACK' MARINE unit to the market place. Although following the platform design of the ST60 unit, ScorpionTrack Marine offers bespoke protection for all types of marine craft from jet skis to larger craft as well as the various storage housings used for them. Protection modes for water, land and transport are just some of the very cleverly-designed features available to the customer via mobile app technology.

Scorpion’s Head of Sales and Marketing, Gary Kirby, commenting on the partnership said: “I am very pleased to have worked with Turnbulls Marine on the development of the new product and proud to appoint them as the UK distributor for Scorpion Track Marine. Their expertise and contacts in the industry has proven invaluable in bringing the product to market and I look forward to working with Ian and his team in securing a firm hold in this exciting market place. Turnbulls and Scorpion have also secured a sponsorship deal with a relative newcomer in the annual Aqua Cross jet ski endurance race series which can be seen on Sky Sport – we will be giving out regular updates on the series throughout the season next year.”

Ian Garton, Turnbulls Marine Managing Director replied: “We are delighted to further cement our relationship with Scorpion by becoming their distributors for marine products. This is a very exciting time for us as the Scorpion Marine Tracking enhances our portfolio of products and look forward to a long and successful partnership with them.

New ScorpionTrack Rider Award AnnouncedAqua Cross

London, 23rd May, 2012 - A new partner joined P1 AquaX on the eve of the championship’s opening round in Plymouth last weekend with Scorpion Track Marine bringing its new anti-theft tracker into the series.

At each one of the five race meetings one lucky rider will walk away with a brand new tracking device, thanks to the introduction of the ScorpionTrack Rider’s Rider Award. The riders themselves will choose the winner after each Grand Prix of the Sea race meeting, with the £400 ScorpionTrack prize presented on the podium. It could be the best performance on the water or perhaps a noble act of sportsmanship by a rider that scoops the coveted prize.

Adrian Wilson won the prize in Plymouth for heroically making a 700-mile round trip on Saturday night to fetch a replacement ski from his home in Kingston-upon-Hull, after his regular 200 Class machine failed on Saturday. Adrian arrived back in Plymouth at 03.00hrs on Sunday morning and made the startline, only for the replacement ski to let him down!

Scorpion Track Marine is already involved in the championship as sponsor of Tim Cope’s (Plymouth) 250 Class Yamaha FZR, but wanted to increase its involvement in the fast growing off-shore personal watercraft series.

“Expanding our involvement in AquaX to expose our product to all the riders and jet ski racing fans makes a lot of sense as the series is clearly going from strength to strength”, said Gary Kirby, Head of Sales and Marketing. “Jet skis are an easy target for thieves but by fitting a Scorpion tracker owners have peace of mind when their pride and joy is parked up.”

ScorpionTrack actively protects watercraft against illegal movement using GPS and the latest movement detection technology hidden within the craft. Once armed, any movement whether stored on land or moored on water will cause ScorpionTrack to discretely notify the owner of movement along with location via a text message.

The pin-point location details along with movement alert will enable the owner to clarify the craft’s location via their smartphone or personal computer. An owner can then use Google Maps to see where their ski is located.

“Our prize package is growing along with the size and stature of the series”, said Lisa Barsby, AquaX Championship Manager. “To have added a prestigious brand like Scorpion Track Marine to our championship partners is a fantastic boost for all the riders and the championship.”

GK Returns….With a sting in his tail

After 12 months out of the industry, Gary Kirby has returned to the arena he knows best after 24 years in the industry and more specifically 16 years experience of vehicle tracking products and dealer network management he is happy to be back.

He says: My new role as Head of Vehicle Tracking Division with Scorpion Automotive offers a fantastic opportunity to make a new mark within an industry that I know inside out. The independent dealer channel will play a pinnacle part in not only the launch of a very exciting new product, but an ongoing business priority for Scorpion going forward. The opportunity to be able to apply 16 years of experience into a new product design is proving very exciting when you add to that the very latest technology available as well as our own research, development and production team at Chorley here in the UK. This will enable the production of an efficient, profitable and dealer friendly tracking solution which will be further outlined in product launch seminars in due course. In the meantime I look forward to visiting the dealer network to gain any thoughts you may have leading up to launch.
